Plan the Perfect Backyard Party with Sizzle King Burgers

Ah summer.  We literally count the days until the official grilling season begins, but if you are like most American families, anytime is a great time to grill (rain or shine).  But summer brings together people in one of the oldest traditions, where we gather outside, share food and laughter, and make memories together.

Sizzle King Foods is proud to be a partner in great summer grill outs! If you are planning a special party for family and friends, we’ve got some tips that can help take a lot of the work out of hosting your event.  It’s all about enjoying the day (not spending all your time in the kitchen) and finding short cuts that save you time and money.

1. Buy Frozen Burgers That Taste Homemade

Okay we’ll admit it, we’re a little biased in this suggestion, but when you consider how much time and money it takes to make scratch burgers, buying a frozen burger you love makes sense.   Not only are Sizzle King burgers thick and juicy, but they also come in a variety of flavors.

Offer your guests some delicious options like:

·         Sweet Onion

·         Bacon Cheddar

·         Spicy Jalapeño

·         Original Beef Patties

Some guests may have a dietary restriction, or prefer a white meat alternative, so it’s a good idea to have some tasty Sizzle King turkey burgers on hand, as a healthy choice.  We’ve got a flavor for every taste and preference, in your frozen food aisle.

 2. Get Creative with Your Buns

We know that the traditional hamburger bun is economical, but if you are hosting a special event, jazz up your Sizzle King burgers by offering your guests some alternative types of buns.  For guests who would like less bread (and more delicious patty) try using delicious or high-fiber bagel thins.  You can also experiment with:

·         Onion cheddar rolls

·         Paleo low-carb homemade rolls

·         Pumpernickel rolls

·         Hawaiian rolls

·         Brioche buns

·         Pretzel rolls

Pile a variety of different flavors into a large bread basket and place it beside a cutting board and bread knife, to allow your guests the opportunity to get creative with their burger.

3. Build Your Own Burger Bar

Sure, you could just grab the bottles of ketchup and mustard, and jars of mayo, but if you are hosting something special and you want to get fancy, you can create a build-your-own-burger bar with condiments that will make everyone feel festive.

Head to your local discount store and pick up some budget friendly galvanized mini pails and use them for your condiments. Put a spoon or a small pair of thongs into each bucket, and add extras like sautéed mushrooms, pickled jalapeños, diced onions (red and yellow), sweet and dill pickles, and fresh ingredients like basil or crunchy slaw.

You can also experiment with some homemade burger sauces that your guests will love.  Most recipes take only a few minutes to prepare and can be made 1-2 days ahead of time.  Check out this article from ‘Cooking Light’ for some tasty burger sauce recipe ideas.

Purchase larger galvanized pails to help you keep forks, spoons and knives organized on your table, and to help you keep napkins from blowing away.  You’ll be amazed how entertaining it is for your guests to create their own burger masterpiece!

4. Healthy Side Dishes

The last thing everyone wants to eat on a hot day is French fries, but there are many different side dish alternatives that go great with our Sizzle King burgers.  Our test kitchen and staff are big fans of Bobby Flay, and we loved his side-dish suggestions in this article on The Food Network

5. Create a No-Stress Playlist

Enjoy some commercial free listening, by organizing a playlist of music.  If you have YouTube Red, you can access free music and build your perfect party jam, without hearing any annoying commercials, while you are chilling out and relaxing.

6. Bring Your Own Chairs

Whether your friends and family are into camping, or tail gait parties, chances are that they have their own comfy chairs at home.  Make sure to remind everyone to bring along their own chair, bug spray and sunscreen, so that everyone will enjoy the afternoon and evening together.

Do you have mad skills, when it comes to hosting the ultimate block party or grill out?  We’d love to hear your suggestions!  Leave us a comment or a link, and get ready to enjoy summer, with Sizzle King.
